Letter to Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State

2007-12-22

Dr. Rice: You have stated today that

“As we have stated in recent months, we think that Taiwan’s referendum to apply to the United Nations under the name “Taiwan” is a provocative policy. It unnecessarily raises tensions in the Taiwan Strait and it promises no real benefits for the people of Taiwan on the international stage. That is why we oppose this referendum. ”

I address you as Dr. since as a Stanford Ph.D. you know how to reason. Here is my analogy.

“As we have stated in recent months, we think that Taiwan’s (Negro’s) referendum to apply to the United Nations (for equal right and freedom) under the name “Taiwan” (black people) is a provocative policy. It unnecessarily raises tensions in the Taiwan Strait (between the white and the black) and it promises no real benefits for the people of Taiwan (black people) on the international stage (in this Great American Society). That is why we oppose this referendum (equal rights and freedom for the black people).”

So do you agree with me? Can you see the fallacy of your argument? I thought you could be more sensitive to the aspiration of the Taiwanese who have achieved, and still striving further to promote, democracy and freedom in that country. Shouldn’t you encourage Taiwanese people not to live under dictator and communism?
